Primary Purpose and Function The Installation Technician II will perform installations of electronic control systems which may include door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low voltage communication and fire alarm systems including cable management, electronic locks, point sensors, signaling devices and associated hardware. As an Install Tech II, this person will be expected to perform at a highly efficient level. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Be able to work independently or as a member of a team. Run electrical wiring in a crawl spaces; related activities to include drilling, trenching, and aerial runs. Responsible for the connection of control panels, application requirements, wire concealment and security software installation. Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete and operational according to contract requirements. Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure that they are functioning properly and that they meet local, county, state, and/or federal codes and any licensing and/or insurance requirements. Manage and supervise 1-2 Tech I's on a job as assigned by Ops Manager Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned such as job-site clean-up Overnight travel may be required on an as-need basis. Knowledge and Skills High School Degree, Vocational School or equivalent is required 2 to 3 years of experience in the physical security, fire alarm or low voltage communication industry installing field devices, programming systems and running small jobs Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude Ability to meet deadlines Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis Must be detail-oriented and organized Possess or have ability to obtain proper state licensing once hired (Low Voltage D license, Alarm Installer Lic. etc.) Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a clean driving record Ability to complete time entry from home on a daily basis via the internet Ability to deliver product familiarization training to end-users Certifications in one or more of the following products is a Plus: Software House Lenel S2 BRIVO Open Options Exacq Milestone ONSSI Axis American Dynamics DMP Bosch Commend Talk-A-Phone Fluidmesh Notifier Allied Universal provides unparalleled service, systems and solutions to the people and business of our communities, and is North America's leading security services provider. Up to $3,000 sign on bonus: $1,000 after 3 months of employment & $2,000 after 6 months of employment In-Home Therapists provide structured, consistent, strength-based therapeutic interventions in client homes for the purpose of treating a youth's behavioral health needs, including improving the family's ability to provide effective support for the youth to promote his/her healthy functioning within the family. This service is delivered by one or more members of a team consisting of professional and paraprofessional staff, offering a combination of medically necessary In-Home Therapy and Therapeutic Training and Support. In-Home Therapist Job Requirements Accurately diagnose and provide proper clinical formulation. Demonstrate knowledge of the service delivery protocol and treatment standards as well as the ethical mandates of relevant professional bodies. Submit detailed progress notes that follow federal, state, and agency requirements. Conduct comprehensive home-based assessments and behavioral health assessments inclusive of the age appropriate version of the Massachusetts Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) that occurs in the youth's home or another location of the family's choice. Develop and modify the youth and family centered treatment plan in collaboration with the youth, parent/caregiver(s), and with required consents, in consultation with other providers. Review/development of a risk management/safety plan in collaboration with the youth and parent/caregiver. Provide intensive family therapy that may include working with the entire family, or a subset of the family, to implement focused, structural, strategic, behavioral techniques, or evidenced-based interventions to enhance problem solving, limit setting, risk management/safety planning, communication, and skill building Identifies community resources and development of natural supports for youth and parent/caregiver(s) to support and sustain achievement of the youth's treatment plan goals and objectives. Provides or secures support and crisis/emergency services for the youth/family. VÍDEO | Polémica por los golpes en una intervención de la Ertzaintza a una mujer en el barrio San Francisco de Bilbao

Hacía las 16.00 horas de este domingo, en la calle San Francisco de Bilbao, una patrulla de la Ertzaintza ha detenido a dos personas, un hombre y una mujer por un atentado a un agente de la autoridad. Los hechos han ocurrido cuando el varón, que estaba transitando por la vía pública, no ha sabido justificar las razones por las que estaba incumpliendo supuestamente el estado de alarma por el coronavirus.

En un vídeo grabado por una testigo, se ve cómo el hombre se acerca al ertzaina y éste lo detiene. Minutos más tarde, una mujer trata de evitar la detención argumentando que es su madre y se trata de un joven con discapacidad, que tiene el permiso correspondiente para encontrarse fuera de casa durante el confinamiento. Sin embargo, el ertzaina, al ver que la mujer se acerca, le propina un golpe y ésta se cae al suelo. Finalmente, los dos quedan detenidos y se los llevan diferentes patrullas.

La testigo, que prefiere no decir su nombre por posibles represalias por haber grabado el suceso, ha indicado a este periódico que se trata de una madre y su hijo, habituales en el barrio, que se encontraban comprando en una de las tiendas que se están abiertas en la calle San Francisco de la capital vizcaína, cerca de casa de ambos. "El chico no está bien y ha llamado a su madre para que le baje un papel que lo acredita, pero ella, al bajar con prisas y todo, te lo puedes imaginar. Entonces grita a su casa para que les bajen el papel, pero la Ertzaintza no espera. Ella se acerca a ellos para explicarse y ahí ha sido cuando la han empujado y todo lo demás que se ve en el vídeo", señala la testigo a este diario tras entregar el vídeo original del suceso. 

Según fuentes del Departamento de Seguridad del Gobierno vasco, el joven "no ha podido dar una justificación coherente" de por qué se encontraba en la calle. "Se le ha pedido la identidad y en un principio se ha negado, posteriormente la ha entregado de manera oral. Al lugar ha acudido también una mujer, que ha tratado de obstaculizar la detención de este varón y tras un forcejeo se le ha tenido que detener. Las detenciones son por atentado a agente de la autoridad", han señalado a eldiario.es.

En cuestión de minutos el vídeo de la joven se ha hecho viral y ha sido compartido por diversas asociaciones, como SOS Racismo Bizkaia que han achacado este suceso a un "incremento del abuso policial" que desde el confinamiento se está viviendo concretamente en esa zona de la ciudad, por ser uno de los barrios más precarizados y en los que hay más presencia de personas migrantes y racializadas. Además, han animado a quién vea este tipo de sucesos que lo grabe.

Wood se molestó con los Pistons cuando informaron que dio positivo

Detroit (EE.UU.), 28 mar (EFE).- El entrenador de los Pistons de Detroit, Dwane Casey, dijo que el ala-pívot Christian Wood no quería que el resultado positivo que dio al coronavirus se supiera públicamente.

Casey admitió que en la organización de los Pistons 'estábamos completamente desconcertados cuando se filtró la información'.

Agregó que Wood 'estaba molesto porque su nombre salió a la luz. Él no lo dijo. Y lo peor fue que se dio a conocer antes de que tuviera la oportunidad de decírselo a su madre'.

Casey señaló que ese factor fue lo que de alguna manera más afectó a Wood.

'Estaba muy enojado con eso', continuó Casey. 'Le dije a nuestro personal: 'Esto no es profesional. Esto no puede volver a ocurrir'. Fue muy injusto para nuestro jugador'.

Varios equipos han anunciado que sus jugadores dieron positivo por el coronavirus, pero protegen sus identidades.

All Knights, el nuevo líder de la Liga Latinoamérica de League of Legends

México, 28 mar (EFE).- All Knights cerró el día 1 de la quinta semana del torneo Apertura 2020 de la Liga Latinoamérica de League of Legends (LLA) en el primer puesto de la clasificación gracias a una victoria sobre XTEN Esports y a que Infinity Esports cayó en el primer partido de la jornada ante Rainbow7.

All Knights dominó su partido ante XTEN desde el minuto 22 cuando ganaron el primero de tres dragones de los océanos ante unos arqueros que poco pudieron hacer.

Después, el equipo fundado en Chile continuó con su estrategia de abrir el mapa destruyendo la torreta del carril superior y la del central.

Al 30, All Knights se dispuso a terminar la partida con el barón, que quiso robarles el argentino Unforgiven (Maximiliano Utrero), y con el 'power baron' tiraron torretas en el carril inferior y la grado dos central para ir por su tercer dragón de los océanos y por la 'top laner' finalizar el juego.

Infinity inició su partida ante Rainbow7 con dominio, al conseguir al minuto 12 el primer dragón y tres minutos después obtener el primer asesinato cortesía del peruano SoliSnake (Diego Vallejo), quien mató al argentino Shadow (Facundo Cuello) y con ello destruir la primera torreta del carril superior.

Bradberry reconoce que le sorprendió la oferta de los Giants

Nueva York, 28 mar (EFE).- El esquinero James Bradberry reconoció este sábado que no esperaba que los Giants de Nueva York lo buscaran, pero dijo que en cuanto recibió la propuesta de trabajo la aceptó y que ahora se encuentra enfocado en dar lo mejor de sí para su nuevo equipo.

Bradberry, de 25 años, firmó con los Giants la semana pasada un contrato de tres temporadas y 45 millones de dólares, con 32 millones garantizados, lo que lo convierte en uno de los esquineros mejor pagados de la liga.

El reencuentro de James Bradberry con Dave Gettleman, el gerente general que lo seleccionó para los Panthers de Carolina, en Nueva York, en esta temporada baja, se sentía como algo inevitable.

El coronavirus y el 'salto a otra dimensión' en la educación en Ecuador

Quito, 28 mar (EFE).- La llegada del coronavirus a Ecuador ha provocado un 'salto a otra dimensión' en temas educativos al llevar a paso forzado a profesores, estudiantes y padres de familia al mundo de la tecnología, en un país donde muchos hogares no tienen ni internet ni ordenadores.

Con la asistencia a clases suspendidas desde hace dos semanas, el Ministerio de Educación ha impulsado el uso de la tecnología para la educación pública y privada que, en un primer momento, enfrentó a problemas de conexión a quienes tenían equipos, y de acceso para quienes el internet es aún un invitado extraño en el hogar.

ALTA CONECTIVIDAD, BAJO EQUIPAMIENTO

Con una conectividad de aproximadamente el 87 % en las regiones Andina y Amazónica, 'el problema está en que solamente un 30 % tiene, tanto las computadoras en su casa (los equipos), como el plan de conectividad (el acceso)', explicó a Efe la ministra de Educación, Monserrat Creamer, sobre los desafíos de esta modalidad.

Por lo que en medio de la emergencia sanitaria por el COVID-19, las autoridades también tratan de superar la brecha tecnológica con medios como Whatsapp, mensajes SMS, radio y televisión.

Desde el pasado lunes, canales transmiten programas educativos durante una hora en la tarde, y cientos de radios comunitarias y rurales lo hacen en tres franjas diarias de veinte minutos.

En tanto que, en zonas más alejadas, donde hay entre 50.000 y 60.000 estudiantes en la Amazonía o los páramos, el Ministerio trabaja con la Subsecretaría de Educación Intercultural Bilingüe y autoridades locales para seguir con los planes educativos.

AVANZAR EN LA CONEXIÓN

Para afrontar el reto tecnológico, varias universidades abrieron incluso miles de cupos para capacitar a profesores en competencias digitales y manejo de aulas virtuales, en lo que es un paso más hacia la teleducación que ya está implementando el Ministerio a más de 1,3 millones de estudiantes de la Sierra y la Amazonía.

A ellos se sumarán en mayo alrededor de 2,2 millones de estudiantes de la costa, que ahora están en vacaciones en un país en el que, esta semana, la cifra de contagiados de coronavirus superó los 1.600, más del 70 % de ellos en la provincia costera del Guayas, y los fallecidos son más de 40.

NO ESTRESAR A LAS FAMILIAS

La educación a distancia generó inicialmente reclamos por el exceso de tareas enviadas por los profesores, lo que llevó a Creamer a aclarar que 'la idea es tomar el momento como un tiempo formativo, de lecturas lúdicas', que 'no estrese a la familia'.

'El momento ahorita no es cumplir con tareas y deberes; es que nuestros estudiantes lean, aprendan, interactúen, se comuniquen, que las familias estén tranquilas', recalcó.

Con esa modalidad, pretenden conocer si el alumno entiende de qué va determinada asignatura y reforzar puntos débiles a través de contactos tecnológicos con los profesores.

'UN SALTO A OTRA DIMENSIÓN'

Para Creamer, uno de los primeros desafíos fue 'alinear' a todos los sectores, pues 'obviamente todos dimos un salto a otra dimensión: familias, docentes, estudiantes' que tuvieron que navegar en una nueva forma de comunicación.

Los nuevos mecanismos han puesto contra la pared no solo a quienes no tienen acceso a la tecnología, sino a padres que, teniéndola, han debido aprender -al apuro- a navegar entre complejos programas y aplicaciones para orientar a sus hijos.

'Mami, ¿con qué programa me conecto a la videoconferencia con mi clase?', preguntaba un niño de 11 años a su madre, de 52 y poco amante de la tecnología, que veía fijamente el ordenador esperando descifrar lo que para ella era todo un acertijo, antes de escuchar aliviada: '¡Deja, ya lo resolví!'.

Para Geovana Sandoval, madre de un niño de cuarto grado, el reto 'tecnológico' y 'pedagógico' ha sido 'bastante fuerte'.

'Más que todo por tener que enseñar lo que tu no sabes, o dejaste de aprender, o ya no sabes cómo se enseña. ¡Esa es la parte más difícil!', dijo a Efe.

Reconoció que, con esta nueva modalidad, los padres se han visto obligados a aprender sobre 'pedagogía', 'tecnología' y 'organización' para que los niños lleven un horario, y se queja únicamente de que, en su colegio, se haya dispuesto clases virtuales solo en la secundaria, lo que hace que los más pequeños necesiten una atención perenne de parte de los progenitores.

Y es que muchos adultos, en particular aquellos alejados de la tecnología, también viven su propio viacrucis con el teletrabajo, pues rige en Ecuador un toque de queda desde las 14.00 hasta las 05.00 y, en Quito, una restricción generalizada del espacio público.

EL DOCENTE 'ELECTRÓNICO'

La situación no es más fácil para los docentes, que han tenido que adaptarse a nuevas formas educativas de 'e-learning' y 'b-learning', y la nada fácil tarea de interactuar con niños, muchas veces de muy corta edad, a través de mensajería electrónica.

Rita Ordóñez, profesora de teatro y artes del colegio Alberto Einstein de Quito, confiesa que ha tenido que agudizar la 'creatividad' para mecanizar 'una clase de música' no presencial, pero ve el cambio como 'un reto más positivo que negativo'.

Una interacción que cree les hace 'muchísima falta tanto a docentes como a los chicos', y que ella trata de resolver con 'una retroalimentación inmediata' con sus alumnos por vía virtual.

También ve un obstáculo en que familias determinadas, y otras con muchos hijos, no tengan acceso a plataformas digitales individuales.

Aún así, cree que este cambio sacará 'de su zona de confort' a profesores que hasta ahora le tienen 'pánico' a la tecnología.

Y en medio de todo, la ministra ve en la actual situación una 'ventana de oportunidad' para llegar a una 'convivencia solidaria en esta incertidumbre que no sabemos cuánto durará', pero con la que 'habremos dado un gran paso adelante cuando todo eso pase'.EFE
